It's Friday Night. October 3, 2003. But on the spacious lawn in front of Chapman University's Memorial Hall, it might as well have been 1983. Or '86. Or '89. 80s lovers took to the grass for the world premiere of How Soon Is Now, kicked off with a retro dance party. Without being told, the masses arrived in costume, and joined by a DeLorean complete with flux capacitor and time-circuits, they danced the night away to music by The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, New Order, and tons more. Here are some key photos from the event, in no particular order. Thanks to everyone who made this a fantastic party and proved me right; the 80s ARE cool! |
